2007 Honours for Manawatu based Scientists

Professor David Parry, was awarded a CNZM (Companion of the Order) for services to biophysics

Professor Robert Anderson, was awarded a ONZM (Officer of the Order) for services to science, education and cricket

Teaching Fellowship of the Royal Society of New Zealand – Gail Porter

Gail Porter is fromFreyberg High School and will spend the year working on her project, at Victoria University, focusing on "Tuatara Conservation - The world's most unique reptile under threat"

The Royal Society’s Teacher Fellowship scheme aims to enhance teachers understanding of science, mathematics, social science or technology and thereby improve the delivery of these programmes in schools.
